30 foot waves were wreaking havoc on the Washington and Oregon coastline, causing flooding, and sweeping a man out to sea that is now presumed dead.

At Depoe Bay, Oregon, one man is still missing and presumed dead after witnesses say he climbed over a sea wall to get a closer look and was swept off the rocks.

"Sneaker" or large waves have killed more then 24 people on the coast since 1990, according to reports.

The waves are being caused by a large thunderstorm in the Pacific on Wednesday. Officials warned people around the coastlines to be aware of flooding and surges.

The National Weather Service says coastal flooding in the area happens when waves are larger then 25 feet, according to reports.
