McCurly Integrity Subaru, Meadow Hills Veterinary and the City Of Kennewick pulled together an awesome event on Saturday! Ameri-Canine Idol was a fun day for dogs and their owners. Dogs of all shapes and sizes were invited to participate!

I was honored to be able to MC the event and in spite of the cold windy weather, I had a wonderful time! I have to say, I was surprised that so many showed up!

Because the weather was windy and overcast. But, that didn't keep everyone from having a fun time! And of course the dogs thought the weather was just perfect!

Dogs raced for top spot in the Poochapalooza, The Dachshund Dash, the Chihuahua Chase and more! They even found the top Big Dog Peanut Butter Licker!

There was an amazing demonstration from the Columbia Basin Dog Training Club! They even had a tracking demo where a dog was able to track the missing passport of a gentleman in the crowd.

The Teacup Trot, the Pub Lug, all fun stuff! A silly race on which dog could eat the most peanut butter was a close second but my favorite was the Best Dressed dog competition and The Most Tricks in 30 Seconds competition.

If you didn't get a chance to make it out this year to Ameri-Canine Idol, Make it a definite for next year. It really is a fun time! There was a lot of food, beverages and all kinds of products and services for dogs and owners. Pet Overpopulation Prevention was there as well and held a Microchip Clinic where owners could have their pets microchiped for only $20. I was sorry to see not many people took advantage of that service. If you want to see some of the best dressed...watch the video. The cute dog in jeans and t-shirt with the iPod and sunglasses won that competition!
