The white 1994 Toyota Camry had been left running unattended on the 800-block of S 9th on Monday at about 11:30 AM, and disappeared.

Tuesday afternoon at about 4:26 PM, the Camry's owner alerted Pasco PD that he had seen it parked in the lot of the nearby Sage-n-Sun Motel at the base of the Cable Bridge.

Officer Dan Ward confirmed that it was the same car, reviewed security video with the motel manager, and identified video of the car being parked in the lot by a male who walked over to Room 128 and went inside.

Officers located a 17-year-old juvenile male from Pasco inside the room who matched the video, has extensive criminal history, and was wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was booked into Juvenile Detention for the warrant and an investigative hold for Possession of Stolen Vehicle.

In addition, Juanita Perez, DOB 070983 of Pasco was arrested on a warrant and an investigative hold for PSV.

Another female, the renter of the room, was arrested on a DOC warrant. A search warrant was served on the room, and the keys were found hidden in a trashcan.

This camera view picks up the same suspect going directly to Room 128, where the juvenile male suspect was later located and arrested.

Please lock your vehicles with a spare key if you insist on letting them run with keys in them. This morning we performed a little extra education and on one block alone I contacted 4 residents who had cars running with doors unlocked. This type of vehicle theft is one of opportunity and takes SECONDS.
