My son wants to become a professional soccer player. My wife and I are supporting him in working toward that goal. Andrew thinks that's unwise because in today's economy we should be steering our children into wise career paths since they'll have it harder than we did. I think everyone wants to support their children in following their dreams, but so often we stomp on their dreams hoping they'll make a safe choice. What do YOU think is right?
I always respected people who chose a mobile home. They're affordable, allowing money to go to savings, retirement accounts, investments, business startups, etc. Lately I've heard the opposite is true. What do you think?
Bedford Bridge is a beautiful walkway over the Umatilla River that allows access from the high school to downtown Pendleton and baseball/softball fields. Before and after school and during lunch kids are hanging out there and that's causing police and administrators a huge headache.
A homeowner in Ogden, Utah, built a big fort in his front yard with cardboard boxes for his two small children. Then a city employee showed up with a citation demanding it be torn down in 14 days or face a fine and possible criminal charges. Neighbors say they're fine with it. The homeowner says it was temporary anyway and he'll now leave it up until the city's deadline instead of when it starts falling down! I say leave it alone, Stacy says it's an eyesore and should not be tolerated. What do you think?
I was doing a last minute scan of FB last night before I drifted off to sleep and found the most offensive post about giving birth via c-section Basically this group known as The Disciples of the New Dawn
I love Indian food. It's one of my favorite things to do when I visit Seattle. There used to be none in Tri-Cities, and then there were two, and then only one, and now there's two again. Masala is at 3321 W Kennewick Ave. (west of 395) and Love Curry Cuisine at 5025 North Road 68 (just down from Yokes). So, which is better?
A local woman recently posted to Facebook that her exchange student was really surprised by the Richland High School bombers logo. He says in his country no one would walk around with a mushroom cloud on their shirt unless they were making a provocative political statement. Most of us have to explain the logo at some point -- either to a newbie who just moved here, or because we're wearing the logo somewhere else. What do YOU say? How do YOU explain it?
