We know you took a lot of photos last night and we want to see them! Babies, kids, teenagers, adults, pumpkins, desserts, decorations... whatever. Share them with us and we'll pick a random submission to receive a family-four pack of tickets to an upcoming Tri-City Americans game!
It was a close contest but Laura won again!
She gets a pair of tickets to a future Tri-City Americans game.
She now faces off against another beautiful wedding pic -- this time from Angela -- for another pair.
The geekosphere was rocked today with the announcement that Disney has purchased Lucasfilm, the home of 'Star Wars,' for $4 billion. If that wasn't enough to inspire "Goofy shot first" jokes, Disney also announced plans to release a new 'Star Wars' movie in 2015 which will not be written or directed by George Lucas. (The creator fans love to hate will stay on in a creative consultant capacity.)
But fans of both "a galaxy far, far away" and The Mouse House have been creating awesome mash-up artwork as long as the internet (or at least DeviantArt) has been around.
Shakespeare described the "witching hour" as a time "when churchyards yawn and hell itself breathes out." Spooky! Equally esteemed author Washington Irving described Halloween night in his classic 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow' as a setting full of "fearful shapes and shadows...amidst the dim and ghastly glare of a snowy night." Kids all across the country describe it as the night when the entire world gives them all the candy they can eat until they either pass out or develop early on-set diabetes.
Halloween may be next week, but Brooklyn's 'Hallowmeme' party got the costumed fun started early. The fourth annual event, put on by the folks at Forced Meme Productions, gives people the chance to dress up like their favorite internet sensations. There were lots of McKayla Maroneys and Psys, but people also repped some less-popular memes as well. Skull Trumpet and High Expectations Asian Father both made appearances, and of course there was a 'Gangnam Style' dance-off and plenty of Honey Boo Boos. Here is all that, plus our personal faves.
We aren't monkeying around when we say that this macaque apes Albert Einstein perfectly. Okay, now that the primate puns (and attendant alliteration) are out of the way, seriously take a look at this baby macaque. An amateur photographer and professional physicist spotted the monkey in Malaysia. We agree the similarity is uncanny.
To celebrate the release of one of our favorite blogs-turned-books, 'Underwater Dogs,' here are some pictures that helped bring photographer Seth Casteel such great success. If you love them, you can find more in his book, which is available here and makes for much better conversation than your current coffee table book, 'Our Bodies, Ourselves.'
Between your foolproof stencil of Justin Bieber's face and an endless supply of premium 99 cent carving tools, you probably envisioned yourself minutes away from that dreamy pop star pumpkin glowing all over your neighbors' jealous faces. What could go wrong?
Laura won our last 98.3 The Key's Facebook "Cutest Couple" Contest! She receives two tickets to a Tri-City Americans game! Now vote for a new winner - Laura vs. Katie.
We’re self-proclaimed Halloween geeks. But honestly, how can you not be? There are so many ways to celebrate the holiday that by the time October 31st rolls around, our entire lives are defined by creepy stuff and ridiculous garb. Our pets aren’t big fans of the festive takeover, but that’s never stopped us from dressing them up as a turkey dog!
