Are your kids thinking about joining the military? United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC) is a great after-school program that teaches children ages 10-18 about the Naval values of honor, courage, commitment -- while having a great time.

My name is Petty Officer 2nd class Noggles and I am the acting Lead Petty Officer of the Columbia Basin Battalion. I'm hoping to get some recruits for our unit! Sea Cadets is a great program for anyone looking to join the military, for some real life skills, or just looking to expand their knowledge.

USNSCC is a program sponsored by the Navy League to help kids get a taste of Navy life without commitment of joining the Armed Forces. Our unit helps wherever we can in the community. We help the VFW with poppy sales every chance we get; we also help the Coast Guard and the Coast Guard Auxiliary.

You may have heard of the Young Marines. We are very similar. The only difference is Sea Cadets go to trainings in the summer as well as in the winter. The first is called "Recruit Training" where cadets learn the very basics of what they need to know about the Sea Cadets. Almost any training the United States Navy offers we're allowed to attend.

Our unit is looking forward to having new kids and giving them a good, life-changing experience. We meet the second Saturday of every month at Finley Community Center, 222204 Game Farm Rd., Kennewick WA 99336 at 07:45. We would be happy to see you there. If you would like more information or have any questions you can contact our Commanding Officer at kisersd@gmail.com.
