An 8-pound white Bichon Frise dog named Zoey was taken from a backyard by a full size eagle and that's not the most amazing part.

Felipe Rodriguez could not believe it when he saw the eagle swoop down, grab his sister's dog, and then fly away over the tree line near the Lehigh River in Pennsylvania.

“It seemed like something from the ’Wizard of Oz,’” “I’m a city boy. This doesn’t happen in my world.” Rodriguez said to the Associated Press.

When the eagle attacked, Felipe was staying at his sister's house and the dog was in a fenced backyard.

“The bird was holding onto the dog. There was flapping of wings and then it was gone,” Felipe said.

The family was devastated and assumed the worst but believe it or not the dog survived.

Zoey was found four miles away by a lady, named Christina Hartman, while she was driving. She spotted a white furry lump and pulled over to look.

“I notice this little frozen dog, icicles hanging from all over. It could hardly move,” Hartman told the Associated Press.

She took Zoey home, fed her, noticed some missing hair and some scrapes but was determined to find her family. The next day she saw a Facebook post about the story and contacted the owners.

“I said, ‘It’s a miracle! I have your dog!’”

“She is not really herself, but she is getting lots of love,” the owner texted the AP late Wednesday. “She doesn’t want to go out. ... I really can’t blame her.”
