Elton John Gets Crocodile as Birthday Gift From Betty White

Forget about "Crocodile Rock."  For Elton John, it's all about the crocodile gift.

Elton just turned 65 at the end of March and in honor of his birthday, Betty White, of all people, decided to adopt a crocodile in the pop star's name at the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

The zoo runs an "Adopt an Animal Program," which allows anyone to adopt one of its creatures for a fee.  The money goes to help the zoo's wildlife conservation efforts.  White chose to adopt a Malayan gharial crocodile in Elton's name, making him its adopted parent and guardian for one year.
