Local wine collectors are buying as much of the 2012 vintage as they can afford. It's not just great-tasting, but expected to age very well.

Although it's likely hyperbole, one expert is saying it might be a one-in-a-hundred year.

2000-2009 all pretty much tasted the same due to consistent weather patterns. Since then irregular weather, like last year's drought and this year's rainy winter, have created big differences in vintages.

If you're a collector, buy wines that age well. If you're not, buy everything.
