Friesian horses are known for their gorgeous long manes and tails! Except MINE!

Most Friesian horse owners, stall their horses by themselves so other horses don't chew on and pull out the mane hair. Some also put up a hot line around the fence, so a horse won't rub their mane on the fence. And, most Friesian owners take the time and energy to wash, condition and braid the mane and tail on a consistent basis so they end up with incredibly long, beautiful mane and tail hair!  I've never been one of 'Those!'

Regretfully, I have always been so busy that I have not made that a priority!

But, my Friesien horse 'Galeron' is now 15 years old! I feel terrible that I haven't taken care of his mane well enough for him to be sporting a long gorgeous, healthy mane!

So, I'm trying to turn over  a new leaf!  He needs a bath BAD! But, I went ahead and tried for my first time to do some braiding on him!

I think I've got the mane thing down. We'll see how often I have to do it.

But, the tail thing....Ugh! I'm going to have to google the best ways to take care of his tail. I've tried tail wraps before with no luck! They always fall off and I find them days later in the pasture. But, here is a video of my experience this morning! I think we did pretty good! And he looks so handsome I think!

Thanks for watching!
