Kenneth Kunes, 61, was the Grant County Clerk (an elected position) from 1999 to 2006. He's had legal troubles and is now facing charges for possession of methamphetamine.

He was convicted for assaulting his estranged wife last spring. A week ago police found Kunes inside a lake-side home in Moses Lake. He confessed to breaking in through the garage and had meth in his pocket and wallet.

Prior to being an elected county official, Kunes was a corrections officer and member of the Washington Jail Industries Board of Directors during his career with the sheriffs office from 1986 to 1999.
