Over-analyzing Game of Thrones is essentially an international pastime at this point, and you could bet fans would put aside the many theories circling Season 6 to decode a mysterious letter Sansa wrote in Sunday’s “Broken Man.” Not only do we know where the letter was headed, but exactly what it says.

You’re warned of full spoilers through Sunday’s latest Game of Thrones (and this coming weekend’s “No One”), but where many presumed Sansa would only have written to Littlefinger to call on the Knights of the Vale, the scene itself curiously obscured the letter’s destination and content. Well, not for Reddit, anyway, as user CreepyPancakes managed to zoom and enhance with enough precision to identify most of the words (Via io9):

You [promised] to protect me. Now you have [a chance] to fulfill your promise. [The Knights] of the Vale are under your command. Ride [north] for Winterfell. [Lend] us your aid and I shall see to it that you are [rewarded].

That’s … admittedly not the most specific direction for a major wartime offensive, but then again, the very fact that Sansa has kept Littlefinger’s aid from Jon suggests that the two might be in for a rude awakening in the so-called “Battle of Bastards.” In any case, one at least wonders why “The Broken Man” framed the moment so obscurely, and/or took so little precaution to keep the letter’s content hidden.

We’ll likely find out more by Sunday’s latest, or perhaps the penultimate Season 6 hour, but how might Littlefinger answer the call?
