Ghostbusters III is Due to Hit Theaters Summer 2020 (Teaser Trailer)

Normally staying up late wouldn't be worth it but I was kind of freaking out last night when the news broke!

Jason Reitman, son of the late Ivan Reitman (Director and producer of Ghostbusters I and II) will be picking up the reigns from where his Father left off and will or has already begun production on Ghostbusters III!

Curious where the 2016 reboot featuring an all-female cast fits in?

Here is what Jason had to say,

 “I have so much respect for what Paul created with those brilliant actresses, and would love to see more stories from them. However, this new movie will follow the trajectory of the original film,” Reitman says."

YES! I have to be honest I enjoyed the all-female Ghostbusters but I was also INCREDIBLY confused. I LOVE the Ghostbusters franchise and being that a majority of the original characters are still alive I couldn't figure out why they didn't tie them in! OR even better why couldn't they have been the daughters of the original cast? Not to give you a spoiler but Bill Murrey is in the 2016 version BUT he is NOT playing his original Ghostbusters character....perhaps they were leaving room for what's to come :)

Two years is a long time to wait but it's gotta be right and I just LOVE the way that Jason, Director of Juno and Up in the Air said,

“This is very early, and I want the film to unwrap like a present. We have a lot of wonderful surprises and new characters for the audience to meet,” says Reitman, who co-wrote the screenplay with Monster House and Poltergeist remake filmmaker Gil Kenan."
