Sometimes it's just shooting fish in a barrel for Moses Lake cops. A police cruiser drove past an auto dealership and saw two men under the hood of a vehicle trying to hotwire it.

According to one of the suspects (who tried to run away but was apprehended quickly), he was at home when he texted his friend to see what he was doing. The friend said he was breaking into cars at the auto dealership but kept busting the ignition switches with a large screwdriver.

When police investigated they found two broken-into vehicles with the ignitions punched out with a screwdriver.

All they could get the engines to do with the hot wires was smoke... hence them still being there when the cops arrived.
