My friend Amy Wither's came in  the studio today to share with me something very dear to her heart.

Her brother who was  in Afghanistan was asking for clothing and supplies for soldiers who had been wounded and were recuperating.

Amy sent items like toothbrushes, socks, underwear, etc. to help make them more comfortable while recovering.

She discovered lots of the wounded soldiers didn't have everyday things like deodorant or clean laundry when they needed it.

She began a program to help those soldiers called Guardians of Freedom Project.

Amy was just  honored by the Daughters of the American Revolution organization.

Here are some ways that you can help. A fundraising carnival will be held in April. Find all the details here or in the recorded  interview.

Here is a video of Amy at just one of the many fundraising events she takes part in each year. This is from last April 2011.

Here is our in-studio interview. I hope you will take a listen and see how you can help our "Guardians of Freedom!" Thank you.
