If sounds like something from the Twilight Zone, but this story really happened in Hermiston this weekend. A man and his ex-wife were attacked by a woman hitchhiker with 4 kids that they gave a ride according to news reports. The woman named Vanessa Logman, 30, of Pendleton, waved them down and said she needed to go to the St. Anthony Hospital. The couple let the woman and her kids between the ages of 6-11 get in the back seat and they headed to the hospital.

Somewhere on the way the woman pulled a knife on the man and slit his throat from the back seat for no reason. The man managed to stop the car and then he and ex-wife managed to get the knife away from her and tie her up. They then called police.

The man had to get 11 stitches, his ex-wife had scrapes, the kids were put into protective custody, and Logman now faces charges of faces charges of attempted murder, second-degree assault and attempted unlawful use of a weapon. She has a history of mental illness and the night before her husband reported she was having a manic episode and was not taking her medication and was missing.
