Valentine's Day, blah, blah, blah! Every year it's the same old hustle to get something and plan something, and if you're single, well, to feel maybe not so good about that. Of course, if you're happy in your life choices, the pressure surrounding Valentine's Day doesn't get to you. But sometimes, it definitely can. As a single girl, this time of year can make you feel more alone, even if you're totally cool being single. So, if you are feeling a bit low, what can you do to get out of that rut? Galentine's Day!

Galentine's Day (in case you don't know) comes from the show Parks & Rec (watch the episode if you can), and it falls on February 13th. It's a party to celebrate your girlfriends, and it doesn't matter if they're single, married or whatever. It's a fun party for ladies to celebrate and cherish other ladies in their lives. To through a successful party, all you need are your gals, maybe dinner, and definitely wine! This year, my friends and I got all dolled up and went to dinner at Lu+Lu Craft Bar & Kitchen, then had an after party of karaoke and adult beverages at a friend's house. It was perfect! We were so fancy that people at the restaurant kept asking what the occasion was.

Now you don't have to go all out for your Galentine's, but if you're throwing one, have cute little favors for your ladies, make sure there's snacks and beverages, and you can even do a small gift exchange. Start a new tradition if you haven't before ladies. Spending quality time with other amazing women is a blast! And let's face it, sometimes you just need a night with the girls.

(Guys, you can a Valen-guy's Day, maybe...? Not sure that's a thing, but start the trend!)
