I'm one of those folks who thinks he's pretty clever ... most of the time.

I have to do daily postings on our radio station website as part of the new era of radio broadcasting. I actually enjoy the exercise, but occasionally I get stumped on what to write about and or what might be amusing for you to read. I thought long and hard and I couldn't think of one thing to write about it until it hit me -- as all great ideas do.-- like the apple falling from the tree.

I would hire someone to write my blogs!

There is a website called Fiverr. It's a site where you can hire people to work for you starting at five dollars per article.

I know you see the brilliance in my master plan, so I arranged for a Fiverr writer to write me five posts totaling $25. And then I waited.... and waited ... and waited. I thought it was a ripoff and I canceled the order after a week because I hadn't heard anything.

I suddenly heard from the blogger when I canceled my order begging me to reconsider and that she had finished the blog.

I relented and had the writer send me what she had written.

This is the exact blog I had asked for. It's about the universe, which interests me.

There is more to this world than what we can see, touch, feel and handle. But of course, we already know that. However, there is also more than what we can imagine, expect, design of even comprehend. Our universe is mind blowing and highly paradoxical such that; the more we know, the more we know how little we know.

Little wonder then, that we have developed a genre that fills up the unknown with our fantasies. Science fiction opens the world to us and us, to the world in a way that make us feel like an existential part of the universe. This is our little compensation for being in charge of a world that towers above us in all measures.

I was aghast! This had nothing to do with a radio blog.

My wife, being the voice of reason and the one with an English degree, read the blog and said the writer had done exactly what you'd asked -- and that it was actually was well written.

I'm still smarting from losing my $25 as I only received this one blog for my five paid blogs, so I decided to walk away from this failed experiment.

I know what you are thinking. You think I've learned my lesson like the kid that copied off your homework in school. You think a fool and his money are soon parted ...

I'm thinking buyer beware, but I'm also one of those folks who never gives up.

So of course I'm looking for another website.
