Karen Griffith Is May Teacher of the Month!

Karen Griffith teaches first grade at Edwin Markham Elementary. She's teacher of the month for May! She wins $100 to the Teacher’s World store and a 60-minute massage from Myers Therapeutic Massage.

Karen is my mom. She has been a dedicated teacher for 30+ years and has never lost her passion or drive to be the best and do the most for her students. She's always using her own money to buy new resources for the classroom and looking for new exciting ways to teach. She taught kindergarten for 26 years and now is teaching 1st grade. She now has children of past students. She attends their sports games, recitals, and even shows up at birthday parties when invited! She goes above and beyond to show the kids she cares about them in the classroom and out. I grew up wanting to be like my mom and touch the lives of others through education. She knows and is loved by so many in the community it's hard to go somewhere where someone does not stop to talk to her! She is an amazing mom, wife and teacher! She is more than deserving of this award!
