I love it that it is in human nature to want to help! Especially when we see a baby animal of some kind appearing alone or abandoned.

It's great that so many want to rush to their rescue and often times really do save the animals life. But, in this case, it's not a good idea at all!  Western Washington and Oregon, officials are warning that during the time of year when baby seals are born, to NOT touch any of them! Often times a baby seal will rest on the beach when his mother is hunting close to shore.

People think the animal is abandoned and try to help. But, once they touch the animal sometimes the mom won't take the cub back. Or it has some kind of reaction to the human environment that the person trying to help has inflicted.

It's often the case with wildlife in the mountains as well. And officials are urging vacationers to stay clear of the wildlife and the sea life and let nature take it's course!
