What happens when you mix Kesha, beer and glitter? It's not always magic and sparkles.

"I've gone through many different ways [when applying glitter]. When I first started, I was just young and naive, and I used to bathe myself in beer and then roll around in it, but then I started getting a skin rash ... it worked, but it was sort of fermenting my skin."

How does she do it now? "I started using baby oil, which is my method now," she revealed. "I fill up a bathtub and just get all oiled up, and then I get in, submerge my body."

When Kimmel asked if glitter gets in "bad places," Kesha happily obliged. "Oh yeah, I've had glitter in all the unmentionables," she grinned. "And everybody on my tour, we have fun 'cause we compare stories ... I don't know if I can say this on TV!" (She was right -- she couldn't.)

K-Dollar Sign also chatted about her upcoming documentary show on MTV, 'My Crazy Beautiful Life,' which was predominantly filmed by her own brother -- which for anyone else would be awkward, but not for Kesha.

"You would think that there would be certain things that I wouldn't do in front of him," she admitted. "But we have this fun game that whenever I'm making out with a dude, I just go, 'Ear muffs!' And then he just keeps filming."

Kesha also noted that because her brother was filming (including lots more than just making out with "lotsa dudes"), there's no staged BS. "A lot of it is me with no makeup, a lot of it looking not so glamorous, a lot of stuff you wouldn't see in other people's documentaries, but I was like, 'You know what? Show the real stuff.'"
