The cover art for Lady Gaga‘s new single is a drag. Literally.

The multimedia phenom can always be counted on to do something unusual when it comes to her artwork — who can forget her “human motorcycle” pose on the cover of ‘Born This Way’? She continues that tradition for her latest single, “You and I,” posing as her male alter ego, Jo Calderone.

In the black-and-white shots, Gaga gazes balefully away from the camera, dark hair slicked up into a messy pompadour. Explaining the artwork in a tweet, she said simply, “You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don’t love yourself.”

This isn’t Jo Calderone’s first appearance in the spotlight — Lady Gaga brought “him” out for a photo shoot and interview with Japanese Vogue for the magazine’s September issue, in which it was revealed that Calderone is a Sicilian mechanic who dreams of owning a fleet of muscle cars. Naturally, he’s also a big Lady Gaga fan.
