Here's an opportunity for High school students in Tri-Cities to learn to be a survivor man like Bear Grylls... For FREE

The JROTC--Survival course is a synthesis of the basic survival information found in Air Force Regulation Survival Training and is open to students going into grades 9-12 who also have an interest in participating in the JROTC program. The survival instruction will provide training in skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary to successfully perform fundamental tasks needed for survival. Survival also presents “good to know” information that would be useful in any situation. The information is just as useful to an individual lost hunting or stranded in a snowstorm. In addition, students will become CPR/First Aid certified, as well as learn water survival training.

This course also includes a four night Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape experience from June 20th to June 24th. Students will leave Kennewick High School on the morning of the 20th and spend that night at Rogers High School in Spokane.  On the morning of the 21st, students will depart for the Coleville National Forest where they will work with Air Force active duty Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape instructors from Fairchild Air Force, learning basic survival skills.  Students will take a bus to Rogers High School and then Kennewick High School on the 24th of June, arriving in Kennewick in the afternoon.  Students will work with students from Medical Lake, Rogers and Clarkston High Schools during this part of the course.
