A local Tri-Cities indie-folk band is releasing a new album soon.

Dear Doris is recording for its first album "Road Kill," composed of creative and unique lyrics and sound. The band hopes to release the final work in the next couple months.

With its first appearance through Clover Stock at Hanford High School, Dear Doris has been around since spring of 2011, playing at a variety of shows and events like Tumbleweed Music Festival and Catalyst. The band performs all kinds of instruments from a banjo to a lap steel guitar, attracting a wide range of audience with its original sound.

Michael Hopp, the singer-songwriter and the lead vocalist of the group, said he hopes to branch out Dear Doris further through this upcoming album.

The band is also planning to film its first music video.
