These days when you order something, it might be delivered by UPS, Fed Ex or USPS. Here's a major heads up from  Danielle.Kane@thebbb.org. She handles Better Business Bureau issues for the Pacific Northwest.  The BBB is warning you about a Fed Ex scam making the rounds as people place holiday orders. It’s an email that claims “Not Possible to Make Delivery.” Here's the press release below. Don't click on anything unless you're sure and thank you Danielle for the info!

Official BBB quote: “This time of year we see a lot of shipping scams. As always, we advise consumers to be cautious about what they click in their emails and to remember that emails can appear legitimate when they’re really not. If you have ordered a package and receive this message, contact Fed Ex directly for a status update.”

Our tips:

  • The fake shipping alert also includes an embedded link titled ‘Delivery Manager.’
  • If you receive one of these false Fed Ex emails, do not click on the link and delete it right away.
  • If you receive one of these false Fed Ex emails, hover over the sender’s email address because while it may appear to come from “Fed Ex Customer Service,” the email address itself will likely be something far different with a meaningless numbers and letters with a random email provider address.
  • You can always check the status of your shipment by going directly to the Fed Ex website and putting in your tracking number.
