Voters in Moses Lake will be able to decide on a construction bond in a special election this Feb 14th. The $135.3 million bond will be to build a new elementary school, make improvements on the high school, and build a new high school. The site for the new high school has been selected, but they are waiting to design the school until after the funds are approved. The district qualifies for $9.4 million in state funds and taxpayers would pay the remaining $102,004,242.90.

The new high school would share the football field with MSHS, but would have its own practice fields and theater would be bigger. The number of teaching jobs would depend on the number of students attending but if approved jobs would definitely be a benefit of the new school.

What do you think? Should this new construction be approved, or is it too expensive to tax payers?
