Memorial Day Will Never Be the Same Now That My Son Is in the Service

Memorial Day is totally different now. Before it was just a three day weekend. Now with having someone in the military (my son just joined the Air Force) seeing all those Facebook memes about honoring the fallen means something now. It's not like I didn't care before, but now I'm close to it.

And I also feel like I'm now a member of a new family unit. Others who've had kids join are supportive and are reaching out to me to share empathy and support.
