I am always perplexed by the number of seemingly healthy adults that drown each year. This year is no exception a 51 year old Walla Walla man's body was recovered out of Lake Jubilee. His canoe capsized and apparently he never reached the shore. So sad. My condolences to his family.According to the article in the Walla Walla Union Tribune. Just last weekend a teenager and an adult woman both died in the waters of Rim Rock lake. Again an extremely sad situation. It always make me scratch my head when people drown. I assume they knew how to swim or maybe not. The common thread between these last 3 drownings is none of the victims were wearing life vests. I just want to remind everyone especially those with young children to be very careful around our beautiful waterways. Especially the rivers. Here are some great tips for water safety from the American Red Cross.
