The source of a bio-diesel fuel leak in the Columbia River has finally been found by federal and state authorities. The leak is coming from Coleman Oil, Inc a fueling facility near Wenatchee which is located near the river according to reports. When officials identified the contaminate as bio-diesel, that gave them the clue they needed to find the leak. When they went to the facility and dug up existing tanks and pipes they found leaks and ground soiled and soaked with bio-diesel residue that matched the samples in the river.

The company responded with this:

"At Coleman Oil Company a core value of ours is environmental stewardship. We deeply regret that there was a release to the environment that appears to have originated at our Wenatchee facility. We will work diligently to contain and eliminate the release, in continued cooperation with federal, state, and local agencies."
