Sometimes getting to work at ungodly hours pays off. This Morning I had the privilege of meeting the

new Chef at J Bistro at Bookwalter Winery. His name is Chef Mark Schwegel. It was a total surprise when I started to smell a very alluring aroma coming from our conference room at 7 am. Chef Mark whipped up the most amazing food including a Vineyard Burger which is made with Wagyu (Japanese Cow) beef. Also on this gourmet burger was pancetta, caramelized cipollini onions, foreshadow Cabernet jelly, and Pt. Reyes blue cheese. If all of that sounds mouth watering believe me it was!

To my complete surprise Bookwalter Winery has stepped up their game in the food department and now offers a complete lunch and dinner menu. They have a great happy hour as well Monday through Friday 4 pm to 6pm. Click Here for the full J Bistro menu.

What impressed me about Chef Mark is that he is incredibly talented and has chosen to use local fresh ingredients in his northwest cusine. Most of his meats come from Snake River Farms.

Snake River Farms is a family owned business, which began over a decade ago and has developed the finest groups of Wagyu/Angus cross cattle in the US;  often referred to as American Kobe beef.

So if you  are looking for something mouth watering and different it's time to check out Bookwalter Winery.
