New Phone Scam Sweeps Tri-Cities – Be Aware!!!

Kennewick Police are warning of a brand new phone scam right here in the Tri-Cities.

KPD has been getting calls concerning a scam involving various tactics.

They took a call that involved the scammer convincing calling the victim telling them they needed to pay $75 to fix their computer with the promise to pay it back.

Unfortunately the scammer convinced the victim to give more money.

Be alert and wary when someone contacts you to fix something you didn’t make a request to begin with.

Be aware and don't become a victim and if you have any concerns or questions, contact your local police department.
