HOMICIDE UPDATE - by Detective Sgt Jamie Raebel:
On June 28th of this year Michelle Hudnall was reported by her family as a missing person.

On the evening of July 3rd it was reported to Pasco Police Officers that Michelle Hudnall had been killed by Florentino “Jai” Castillo and that her body had been left along a river. Our Detectives immediately began to investigate the details in this case.

A witness to the alleged disposal of the corpse was located and provided pertinent information that gave us a clearer picture of the events that surrounded Michelle’s disappearance.On the evening of July 5th two individuals not involved in this case came upon human remains along the Columbia River, near the intersection of Columbia River Road and Sagemoor Road. They reported it to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

Our Detectives assisted The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office in processing the scene where the body was located along with the help of the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab Response Team.

Once the crime scene was processed The Franklin County Coroner’s Office took custody of the remains.
Based on our investigation at this time We believe those remains to be that of Michelle Hudnall; however, we are still waiting for the Franklin County Coroner’s Office to confirm the identity.

Three individuals have been arrested for their involvement in this case.

1. Florentino “Jai” Castillo, 39 of Pasco
2. Benny Lozano Jr, 27 of Pasco
Both have been booked into the Franklin County jail for Murder in the second degree.
3. Guadelupe Sanchez , 27 of Pasco was also booked for Rendering Criminal assistance in the second degree.
