Former 'Bachelor' contestant Gia Allemand died today (Aug.14) in an apparent suicide after hanging herself. She was admitted to the hospital in New Orleans on Aug. 12 and was listed in critical condition. The gorgeous reality TV star was eventually taken off life support. Her tragic end inspired us to look back at her life through her own photos, words and appearances.

By all accounts and the outpouring in the social media space, she was beloved by friends and family. Her appearances on both 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelor Pad' showed her to be both sexy and sassy.

But her social media platforms, which she used actively, offer a more intimate look at this beautiful light that was snuffed out too soon, painting far more of a personal portrait of the aspiring actress than a heavily edited reality dating show ever could.

Allemand's Instagram feed was populated by plenty of photos showcasing her natural beauty. She was a girly girl, with a love for things like beauty products, shoes and handbags. The reality star, 29, wasn't that much different than most women her age, often posting photos of those items, like the cornflower blue Prada top-handle bag she saved up for and treated herself to.

She sometimes posted more contemplative fare, like this John Lennon item.

Allemand's most recent reality television credit was appearing on 'Bachelor Pad,' a spinoff of the main show, on which she demonstrated her strong, forthright personality.

She reflected on her time on that particular show during the finale, again asserting herself and proving to be strong and outspoken. Her thick Queens brogue made her that much more appealing to fans.

Allemand spoke about Jake Pavelka, whose heart she competed for during Season 14, in 2010. In a promotional interview, Allemand didn't play her hand. Instead, she laid her cards up on the table, claiming that she had no strategy and that she was acting as "just me. I want us to win each other's heart." She ultimately placed third.

Allemand was also said to be religious. Her final tweet, posted on Aug. 11, the day before she was admitted to the hospital, showed us that she was surrounded by faith.

R.I.P., Gia.
