Richland Man Could Be Next Secretary of Defense!

If you don't know his name, note it now. Retired General James Mattis is a local hero. A graduate of Columbia High School (now Richland High School), Gen. Mattis grew up to have a successful military career finally becoming the leader of all Marine operations in the Middle East until retiring in 2013.
And he's not forgotten his roots. Gen. Mattis still owns a home in Richland which he claims as his primary residence (evidenced by the fact he was summoned to jury duty AND SHOWED UP this week!) His mother stayed in Richland and he visits often.
Some military experts have called him the most popular senior general of his generation!
President-Elect Donald Trump met with Gen. Mattis Nov. 19 to discuss his candidacy for Secretary of Defense!
