The nuclear power generator near Richland owned by Energy Northwest created a record amount of power for the month of January. The CFO for Energy Northwest claims that the extra power "contributes directly to lowering our overall cost of power for the region’s ratepayers". They report that the station generated 860,813 net megawatt-hours into the power grid beating the previous record set last month of 859,619 net megawatt hours.

They say the increase is due to "the work we did during the last refueling outage" and it is increasing the output like expected.
