Run for Ribbons fun run on April 27 raises money for fighting cancer right here in Tri-Cities. The 5k and 1-mile walk also promotes awareness and prevention of all forms of cancer.

Participants are given a t-shirt with a blank ribbon and it's their job to decorate it anyway they wish. If you want to participate to support more than one individual or cause, just make that known on your shirt! Customize to show your personality, honor a memory or celebrate something.

The run/walk begins at 10 a.m. in Howard Amon Park in Richland. A cancer awareness fair featuring a giant walk-through colon will feature activities for kids and will keep supporters entertained while they wait near the finish line.

After the run and fair the organizers will head over to Richland Jack-sons for a party from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
