Scandal! A High School Math Class Proved Double Stuf Oreos Don’t Actually Have Double the Stuffing

A high school math class at Queensbury High School in Queensbury, New York has figured out that Double Stuf Oreos don’t actually have double the stuff of regular Oreos.

32-year-old Dan Anderson is their math teacher, and he decided to do the experiment to show his students a way to use math in the real world.  They did the experiment back in March, but it just caught media attention now.

He had the students weigh the different types of Oreos, then adjust for the weight of the wafers to figure out the weight of the cream filling.  And Double Stuf Oreos only had 1.86 times the filling of regular Oreos . . . not two times the filling.

Although Mega Oreos had 2.68 times the cream filling of regular Oreos.

A spokeswoman for Nabisco SHOT DOWN the experiment though.  Quote, “I’m not familiar with what was done in the classroom setting, [but] I can confirm for you that our Double Stuf cookie has double the cream filling of our original Oreo cookie.”
