SeaWorld made a huge announcement this morning that it would no longer capture or breed live orcas for their parks. The whales they currently have will be the last generation that will be in captivity and will be showcased in new "natural orca encounters" instead of live shows.

In a statement on their website, SeaWorld says "Why the big news?  SeaWorld has been listening and we’re changing. Society is changing and we’re changing with it.  SeaWorld is finding new ways to continue to deliver on our purpose to inspire all our guest to take action to protect wild animals and wild places."

They are also partnering with the Humane Society of the United States to fight for ocean wildlife protection and ending their breeding program.
