Jim made me so mad this morning. He thinks graduating high school seniors should go to a two-month boot camp to learn respect, honor and discipline. That's all we need: schools replacing parents. Respect, honor and discipline is supposed to be taught at home! Here's why:

  • If parents aren't doing their job, then schools (or society) need to tell parents to do their job -- you don't do it for them.
  • Kids hate school. What makes Jim think they'd listen to teachers if they won't listen to parents.
  • If kids don't learn honor, discipline and respect, it only hurts themselves. It's not the school district's problem, it's the parents' problems.
