Pasco teachers are hoping for more money, and may strike for the first time since 1978. But another disagreement between teachers and the Pasco School District is over preschool. What do YOU think?

Pasco's budget includes money for district preschools. The teacher union feels this is unwise, according to the Tri-City Herald, because 1. the voters don't want to fund a preschool and 2. the district already has Head Start.

As a parent, I can't believe how outrageously expensive good preschools are. The cheap ones are really just daycares. Each year I have to balance what's best for my child with what is in the family budget. I'd love free preschool options.

And since many Pasco students struggle in school, especially the ones from lower-income families, more preschool options that are professional could really be good for the kids.

But it is a huge expense passed on the whole community, which has made their wishes clear by voting for or against school bonds. What do you think?
