"Country Legends" host Ed Dailey (KORD Sunday mornings) is a local music legend, a high school teacher, a wedding officiator, a minister and a homeless advocate (among other things). Suffice it to say when he goes shopping he gets recognized... but not like THIS! Read his hilarious story from the weekend:

Coming back from two weddings in Walla Walla in the early afternoon on Saturday he stopped to do some shopping at Queensgate in Richland. He had been outside all day and was tired and warm, dressed all in black. First he ran into one of his bosses, then a former student. Then he heads to the check out line...

I see a trainee learning how to check and her line was short, "Glory Days," I thought. So I am standing there looking old and tired with long hair blown from the breeze wearing all my rings and stuff (dressed nice in all black) and as she was scanning my trail mix, paper plates, jam, $5 alien movie, Pepsi, and candy she keeps looking at me like she knows me and smiling and chewing gum, loud. Then she says, (wait for it... wait for it...) 'Hey, you look like an old rock and roll guy.' Before I can say anything she says, 'Did you just come from Walla Walla?' Which I had so I said I just drove up from there. Again, before I can say anything else she says, 'I like country and rap, but I know there are rock bands in Walla Walla. Hey!!! You are in the Food Fighters?'

I'm thinking 'Food Fighters? Is this chick for real or is she messing with me?'

But before I could even say, 'Yes I have been fighting food my whole life... and its winning now,' she says, 'Will you sign this paper so my boyfriend will believe I met you?'

So I'm thinking, 'My God, she is serious.' Remember when she said she liked country and rap? I thought, 'Let me get this back on the track.' I said, 'Do you listen to KORD radio?' She says, 'Yea!' I said, 'OK, have you heard the older country music on Sunday mornings?' Before I could say who I was she says, 'No I hate old music, and that guy sucks.' So I said, 'Let me sign that paper for you.'
I signed it, 'Eddy Van Sucko of the Food Fighters, Sunday mornings on KORD.'"

If you don't get the joke, the Foo Fighters played Walla Walla on Friday and Eddie Vedder was rumored to be in town hanging out with them.
