The former Grant County prosecutor won a case in the Washington Supreme Court last week over an issue he blew the whistle on six years ago and may have lost re-election over.

In 2009 the county coroner got in an argument with his chief deputy coroner and he locked her in his vehicle. Criminal charges were brought and he plead guilty. Part of the punishment was he was no longer able to hold public office.

But the newly-elected coroner then appointed the old coroner as chief deputy. Lee cried foul.

Not knowing these individuals, or the politics involved, it appears the public supported the old coroner since they elected someone who re-hired him, and then did not re-elect the prosecutor who blew the whistle.

Again, without knowing the people involved that sounds fair. We've got to wonder if there's more to the story.
