Now that temps are dropping, and more heat is needed in homes, a variety of experts and fire safety officials are saying don't plug space heaters or others into power strips. Otherwise, they will look like this picture, courtesy of the Umatilla County Fire District 1.
It might cooling down in the next few weeks, but looks like warnings are still in effect for campfires and off-roading especially in the Blue Mountains this weekend.
According to various sources, the air quality in Eastern Washington, North Idaho and Northeast Oregon is among the worst in the entire U.S., due to smoke from those British Columbia fires and others. On the map, yellow is moderate, orange not very good, and red is 'put on a mask and stay indoors..'
