A local bakery in West Richland is doing a wonderful thing for foster kids right here in the Tri-Cities. They are making birthday cakes for foster kids and have teamed up with non-profit Mo's Place to help get the word out in the Tri-Cities and Walla Walla.

Nearly 20,000 children in the Pacific Northwest are in foster care. Moving from school to school makes it hard for them to learn and be prepared for college or the work place. Many drop out before finishing high school. You can help foster children by donating school supplies and allowing them to feel ready and confident for the first day of school (on Aug. 28 in Tri-Cities).
