Brendan Haas came up with a pretty cool way to give back to military families. Inspired by the famous story of the guy who through a long chain of Craigslist trades was able to turn a paperclip into a house, a nine-year old launched what he called the “Soldier for a Soldier” initiative. Starting with a toy soldier, Haas kept trading up until he amassed $900 worth of Disney gift certificates, airfare and hotel credits.

My son's girlfriend shared a "Promissory Note" with him today. She said her father used to go into each of his daughters' rooms before bed and repeat it with them.

When I read it I was so impressed with the father who obviously KNOWS how valuable and important his influence on his daughter is and uses that relationship to help create the values and qualities in his daughters that will serve her greatly in her future!

What a remarkable man! And I have to say, his daughter is just simply lovely
