A record foot of snow fell in Portland Oregon this week causing the city to basically shut down, even the Portland Zoo was closed. You would never know the snow caused so many problems by watching the Zoo animals on a snow day!

My family enjoyed our Labor Day weekend by driving to Portland and the Oregon Coast. When people talk about their favorite things to do in Portland I hardly ever hear them mention the zoo or the neighboring rose garden -- but they're a "must see."

I have been to the Portland Zoo, but I have never got as close to the lions as this baby!
