thunder and lightning

Another Junuary weekend forecast which includes heavy rain thunderstorms and high winds..when will it start? and when will it end?

Saturday morning I was awakened by the loudest thunder in quite a long time. my whole house shook so I headed to my back patio and quickly went back inside because the lightning was so intense. Then I started seeing amazing photos all over social media.

The Benton County Fire Department and the National Weather service have issued an URGENT Fire & Weather advisory for today July 23rd 2pm to 5pm a significant storm is to pass though the Columbia Basin Area including Benton Franklin and Umatilla Counties. This will be a fast moving storm with "ABUNDANT" lightning!

Well the weather forecasters were spot on as a major thunderstorm hit Tri-Cities last night. I was too chicken to go out and catch video but some of you were not!

Last night, "Mother Nature" put on an awesome display. The storm struck at about 9pm and caused minor damage throughout Tri-Cities and in College Place. According to the National Weather center in Pendleton, winds as high as 38 mph were reported in Tri-Cities and winds as high as 54 mph reported at the Walla Walla Airport...
