The 16-year-old driver was cited, but not for what you might think!

Fortunately, no one was injured in this strange wreck that occurred Tuesday where Highway 395 crosses 4th Ave. in Kennewick right next to the Kennewick National baseball fields.

At last report, 4th Ave was closed between Conway Place and South Green Street because a light pole had been knocked over and was blocking the roadway.  Crews have been dispatched to the scene to make sure the power is off to the pole before they remove the car and pole.

According to reports from KNDU-TV, our news partner, the car was apparently Westbound on 4th when it veered up the slope just before the overpass and struck the light pole!

The 16-year-old girl and her 4-year-old nephew were wearing seat belts and not hurt, but the girl was cited for the child not being in an approved car seat.

No word was given by authorities if any other citations were issues.
