This Must Be the Most Patriotic — or Stubborn — City in Washington

What is the most patriotic (or stubborn) city in Washington State? I think I found the answer, but you need to really dig into the history of the state to find why. In very north west part of Washington there is the little town called Point Roberts. It has a population of around 1,300 people. It is actually part of the United States even though it is land-locked with Canada. There is no part of the land that is touching the USA and that makes things tough for residents living there.

It turns out that back in the 1840's a treaty was made to establish the 49th parallel as the border for the United States and Points Robert and the lower half of Vancouver Island fell under the line. The governments let the people decide which country they were apart of and Vancouver chose Canada and Point Roberts chose the United States.

Why? They must be really stubborn or really patriotic!
