I started eating Quinoa for it's high protein benefits recently. I noticed on the package it said it was washed but on the directions it said to 'rinse it' before cooking. I tried three different cullenders and each had too big of holes and the Quinoa just spilled out!

I finally used the grease screen I use when frying bacon! And that seemed to work well!

I've made all kids of variations of Quinoa, and seriously think I could probably eat it for every meal. It has great health benefits and it's so easy to make and use in a variety of dishes. It's quick, easy, and you can make a big batch and eat it all week in different ways.

I don't like the texture of oatmeal, but I love eating the Quinoa like a hot cereal! I've also substituted chicken broth in the water while cooking Quinoa and then added Broccoli and Kale with some sauteed onions and  a bit of Garlic. I also like it with cottage cheese and fruit.

One night I was craving Nacho Cheese Dip and Tortilla Chips, so I shredded some cheddar on a bowl of cooked Quinoa and it tasted great!

So lots of different things you can do with Quinoa and have it be healthy and give you great energy! I find if I eat a bowl of Quinoa before a run, I have way more energy!

1 C Quinoa to 2 C Water. Bring to a boil then simmer 15 min.

I usually put a teaspoon of Coconut Oil in my hot cereal, cause I like the healthy fat!  And then I add some sort of fruit! When I'm being really bad...I put Coconut Oil in it and then add a teaspoon of brown sugar and a little Almond Milk. Yum! I love that!
